This walk was destined to be good but it wasn’t. IT WAS GREAT. The colour and views were out of all the colouring books rolled together. Had they been on the front of a magazine you would find it hard to believe that the real thing exists. What’s more it didn’t take a massive effort to get there.

Leave the pub and go up the road to (Point 1) and then turn right. After about fifty yards you will see a lane approaching from the right, this is (point 2) but ignore it and Follow as the path leads

At (Point 3) you will meet a three finger post and yours is the right turn. After less than 1/4 of a mile you will then reach a fork in the path were you take the left fork (Point 4). Follow this path until you reach a gate, a two finger post and a metaled road turn right here (Point 5).

When you reach a fork in the road where you will also see a two finger post. (Point 6) take the right hand path and at another fork (Point 7) again bear right and a few yards later there is a three finger post where again, yours is the right hand path (Point 8)

Keep following this path and eventually you will come to a gate with a blue maker post (Point 9) stay on that path and in that direction. (Point 10) is a four finger post and again you turn right which leads you down then up a very steep section and on to a gate with a cattle grid (Point 11).

(Point 12) is a blue post letting you know that your on the South downs way, but don’t get too excited your not on it long because (Point 13) is coming up and that is a two finger post where you turn right and up the hill to (Point 14) which is a yellow post where you carry straight on.

By the time you reach (point 15) you will be well and truly going downhill but don’t worry just turn right and soldier on to (Point 16) where you bear left into the field.

Now its a case of follow your nose back to the pub you will pass (point 17) a gate, (Point 18) another gate, then (point 19) which is a blue post. By this point you can see your pint being pulled in the pub. Go on you’ve just lost six million calories and no body’s looking spoil yourself
